About Brett Dean Therapy - Your Trusted Psychotherapy Partner

Hello, I'm Brett

I’m a CBT and EMDR psychotherapist with almost a decade of experience of delivering therapy. I am dedicated to helping people better understand themselves, navigate emotional difficulties, and move towards a more grounded and fulfilling life.

I know that seeking therapy often comes at a point where something feels difficult, painful, or uncertain. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, stress, relationships, identity, or feeling overwhelmed, therapy can provide a space to explore these experiences safely and thoughtfully.

My aim is to offer a calm, collaborative, and compassionate environment where you feel genuinely heard and supported. I have a particular interest helping people struggling with anxiety and trauma.

I support a range of people with a range of difficulties. Through my years of working with people, I have developed a few areas of clinical interest and specialisms within my practice. These include supporting LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as individuals navigating perinatal experiences, adoption, parenting, long-term health conditions, and persistent pain. I recognise that these experiences can bring unique emotional, relational, and identity-related challenges, and I aim to offer a compassionate, affirming, and thoughtfully tailored therapeutic space.

I'm not a one-size-fits-all therapist. Your therapy will be tailored to meet your needs at every step.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

Many people come to therapy feeling uncertain about what they need, struggling to put things into words, or worrying that their difficulties are “not serious enough.” Therapy can still help.

My role is to meet you where you are and support you in exploring things at a pace that feels manageable.

Compassionate

I offer a compassionate and sensitive therapeutic space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported in exploring difficult experiences at your own pace.

Collaborative

I work collaboratively with clients, creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, openness, and shared understanding. The therapy is tailored towards your needs.

Adaptive

My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapy while remaining flexible and responsive to your individual needs, experiences, and goals.

Non-judgemental

I provide a non-judgemental and supportive space where you can speak openly and feel accepted without criticism or pressure.
